Linkage Minus Thinkage Part 3,986

Still swamped.

Med Valley High's Grand Rounds (basically a carnival of med blogs) has a few posts dealing with the Virginia Tech Massacre. (On a semi-related note there's an amusing post called "raodmap for the emergency department").

"Cellist Mstislav Rostropovich dies at 80". "Russia honours master cellist Rostropovich".

"Site of Colo. Indian massacre honored"

"Can Flying Make You Sick?" With the disarmament policy & the general attitude that you're a beast to be herded I'd have to say that it will at least disgust you.

"The disarming of America" in which a retired u.S. diplomat spells out how he'd go about implementing a complete confiscation of firearms.
"Here's a Great Idea for Solving the Drug Problem" in which Prof. Volokh highlights the problems with the retired u.S. diplomats' arms confiscation proposal. Iowahawk offers a nice satire of the proposal with a post called "Is that a gun in your pocket?". The QandO blog discusses the proposal in a post called "A Gun Banner's Wet Dream". There's a post on this over at The Liberty Zone & if you know Nicki you can imagine she's not feeling warm & fuzzy about the proposal. Last but not least Mike Vanderboegh has a guest post over at The War On Guns entitled "Kill All They Send...' The Modest Proposal of 'Homer Simpson's Dumber Brother' for Gun Confiscation & A Modest Counter-Proposal".

Instapundit has some links concerning the Atlanta cops who murdered an elderly lady in the name of the War on (Some) Drugs a few months ago. There's an article with more details about the events surrounding the cops' treachery called "Chain of Lies Led to Botched Raid" (h/t Say Uncle).

Craziest is a post by Prof. Volokh that takes Jim Spencer (of the Denver Post) to task for his article criticizing a letter to the editor opposing socialized medicine in Colorado. (Also see "Dr. Paul Hsieh's 'Crazy' Letter" at We Stand FIRM - FIRM meaning Freedom & Individual Rights In Medicine). The author of the letter is (to quote Prof. Volokh's introduction) "Dr. Paul Hsieh, a libertarian M.D. in Colorado (and also the author of the fantastic GeekPress blog"

The War On Guns has a post up about the NRA's statement concerning the inclusion of mental health records in the NICS system.

& before you open up the extended entry for the almost obligatory cute furry predator pic .gif I'd suggest opening one of these vids by Stevie wonder for it to seem cuter than it is. "Sir Duke", "Part Time Lover". or "I Just Called To say I Love You".
