I was asked to pass the following along & since it seemed like a good cause...
"Americans willing to volunteer to teach others to shoot is a great idea. The Revolutionary War Veterans Association (RWVA) Project Appleseed is a bunch of volunteer Americans teaching other Americans how to shoot like riflemen.
Our first year was very successful - we met our goal of 1000 shooters attending Project Appleseed.
This year, the goal is TWO THOUSAND, and we have doubled the number of stops we'll be making across the nation. If you live in WA, OR, ID, WY, AZ, NV, TX, MO, IL, WI, IN, KY, TN, AL, FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, PA, NY, CT - and maybe OH, come and be immersed for two days in the American heritage - which began on April 19, 1775 - of rifle shooting.
Check rwva.org for a schedule of stops. Even if it's a state away, it's worth it. Get a couple of buddies and car pool it.
Cost is $45 for one day; $70 for both days (and a free T-shirt).
RWVA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Any 'profit' goes back into the program to host future Appleseed shoots.
Stay tuned for the forthcoming battle between Texas (22 million) and Indiana (6 million) as to which can turn out the most for the 2007 Appleseed tour. Last year's winner was Indiana, by a landslide..."
