U Got It Bad

Usher again (I've been in an R&B mood lately - lately being defined as the past 25 years). This is a slow R&B tune that always captivated me for some reason. It's about being in love with someone & possibly even loving them (there is a difference). It talks of some of the signs that some people exhibit when in the thralls of this peculiar type of madness:

"U got it u got it bad - when you're on the phone; hang up & you call right back
U got it u got it bad - if you miss a day without your friend your whole life's off track
U know u got it bad when you're stuck in the house you don't wanna have fun; she's all you think about
U got it bad when you're out with someone but you keep on thinkin' 'bout somebody else
U got it bad"

(Hey - even players fall in love. Hate the game baby.)

But the guitar work in here is real nice. The chords are pretty & the solo is one of the few I wouldn't change around (too much) if I were playing this tune. Plus the vocals (both backing & main) are spot on. Touching lyrics set to a cute catchy melody with a groove & a nice chord progression holding it up make this one of the coolest slow jams I've been groovin' on lately. But listen for yourself. It's not safe for work due to some profanity but it's worth putting on the headphones for. Here's the vid; here's a live version (which I prefer) & here are the lyrics. & when you get home tonight put this tune on & dance with your lady or man for a minute. Ya might as well express how you feel about her/him whilst you can. It ain’t gonna make the whole world a nicer place but it might make y’alls world a nicer place, & that’s all we can really hope for isn’t it?

But speaking of having it bad...

I've been remiss in covering Colorado's legislative situation. Luckily Rocky Mountain Gun Owners has the details on the pro & anti gun bills that have been introduced thus far. Here's their Bill watch page. & here's an item they posted about the NRA's top rated Republican legislator pushing another anti-gun bill. Rep. Al White (R-Winter Park) is pushing a bill that would make the inclusion of CCW holders in the state's criminal database permanent. The practice is currently being done under a segment of the 2003 CCW law that will sunset in the summer of 2007. I've read some place or other that White wants CCW holders in the criminal database permanently so that those anti-gunners won't be able to attack the broader CCW bill. It's bullshit like that from a politician that makes me seriously regret the high price of tar & feathers.

Overall it looks like we have 3 bad bills to contend with & 2 decent ones. With Republicans like Rep. White let's just say I'm not as optimistic as usual about which ones will become law.

But go read what RMGO has to say.

That is surprising from someone like Representative White.
