The Not So Secret Police

If you thought the gun owner control laws here in Colorado wouldn't be enforced vigorously, think again:

"Agencies from across Metro Denver have come together in an effort to prevent firearm violence this summer, the group announced today. The effort, which includes federal, state and local law enforcement agencies as well as federal and state prosecutors, will focus on firearm violations. The goal is to reduce gun crime...

These law enforcement agencies and prosecutors will work closely together to review gun crime investigations to determine which venue, federal court or state court, has the most severe prison sentence. Based on that analysis, charges will be filed in the venue with the toughest penalties."

Who are these constitutionally illiterate buffoons? You won't be shocked at the list:

"The agencies involved in the Metro Denver Firearm Initiative include: The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Aurora Police Department, the Denver Police Department, the Lakewood Police Department, the Arapahoe and Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, the Adams County District Attorney’s Office, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and the Denver District Attorney’s Office."

Interestingly enough, Sheriff Mink of Jefferson county is among the 55 sheriffs suing the state over the new gun owner control laws. So is Sheriff Darr of Adams county and Sheriff Weaver of Douglas county. Sheriff Robinson of Arapahoe county is also on the list, but he has a somewhat obstructionist attitude towards folks carrying from what I've heard.

Oh, I should mention, district attorneys are elected in Colorado.

In any event they mean to enforce all the gun owner control laws they can, including the newest batch. So if you're in Colorado & were thinking of visiting the Denver metro area, don't. If you live out of state but were thinking of coming to Colorado for any reason, don't. (Unless of course you wish to join the resistance [We have cookies!]). Take your money elsewhere.
