Yesterday I noticed that oddly enough there's not much difference between snow & sand when the wind picks up:
If you look up while it's snowing your face will feel a slight sting from the snowflakes hitting it.
If the wind is 30 mph & gusting to 60+ mph A: you don't need to look up B: it doesn't have to be snowing C: there's nothing "slight" to the sting.
