Yesterday, in my Guns 'n' RKBA Round-Up, I mentioned a story which reported that, "On the eve of a crucial vote to reinstate a law allowing more people to carry guns in public, [Minnesota] House members received e-mails threatening harassment and blackmail if they voted against the bill Wednesday." I commented: "Almost makes you wonder if it's the work of an agent provocateur."
Apparently, it was. In fact, the article to which I linked explicitly said that the incident "appeared to be a hoax." D'oh! Matt at TriggerFinger was all over it. (Matt does very good work; if you have any interest in RKBA issues, you certainly should check out his blog.)
Well, anyway, that makes sense. If law-abiding gun owners won't play into the wild-eyed, bloodthirsty crazies stereotype that the anti-gunners propagate -- and they hardly ever do -- well, shucks, why not give them a little help?
