I have a cherry finished beech stock on my M14, and a beatufiul E2 stock.
I definitely like the maple/coffee laminate look though. Wharere did it come from.
Oh and are you couing to update your banner with a newer and prettier M1?

Thank ye. I admit I like the laminates for utilitarian reasons, but I've seen too many rather fetching ones to pretend I don't like the way they look. I don't think they should ALL have a laminate stock (& if you look at Dean's Gun Restoration's site you'll understand why) but a laminate should be on any working Garand - probably any working rifle for that matter.

Thank ye. I've seen some striking cherry stocks here & there. You should send me some pics. The stock came from Boyds. It was 98% inletted & unfinished.

Unfortunately I don't have an E2 sling or sling support for it, but I'm sure I'll find them at an ELGS sometime soon.

Posted by: Scott at February 10, 2005 07:23 PMI wish you would put a better stocked Garand at the top of your page. I grimace every time I see that cheap-looking, laminated stock. Yeah, I know they're more functional, but it looks like something Ruger would put on a 10/22. Reminds me of last ditch, Nazi Mausers too.
An honest piece of walnut would be much more palatable.
