Change Will Do You Good, Though I Prefer Folding Money

There's been some re-arranging as well as addition to this blog.

Made a few addtions to the blogroll, as well as made a few changes to the left margin. You'll notice the calandar is missing. That's due to a problem I've been having with the auto-generated links not pointing to the right place. If I can find time to correct the problem I may put it back up. Also the monthly & categorical archives are located at the bottom of the margin. There's also a new category called Forums between the Links section & the blogroll. The flag at the bottom of the blogroll is the flag of the Confederate States of America. Commonly it's refered to as The Stars & Bars. It was adopted in 1861 & retired in 1863. The flag is a badge for a webring called The Rebel Alliance. It's more or less a webring for unreconstructed Southerners, of which I am one. If you have any doubts you're more than welcome to read this post entitled Comments on N.C.'s Constitution & secession, inspired by a Robert Greenslade piece entitled Did the Fourteenth Amendment make the American People Citizens of the Federal Government?. I don't agree with everything expressed by The Rebel Alliance webring, but then again I suspect that they might not collectively agree with everything I express. what we do have in common is our lack of reconstruction: we simply do not buy into the idea that the states lack the authority to secede from the Union. Instead of making a very long & drawn out post on the matter I'll just leave it at that. For now at least.

The Words on the flag - well two are self explanatory: Rebel Alliance. There is however a motto in Latin that took a little bit of digging for me to figure out. It's Deo Vindice Resurgam which I believe means God Will Vindicate & Raise Again but my Latin is rusty to say the least. I will welcome any corrections if I have it wrong. In any event it's a variant of the motto found on the Great Seal of the Confederacy which was Deo Vindice (God Will Vindicate).
